From its origins in Gdansk, Poland, to becoming a global benchmark in luxury yacht construction, Galeon Yachts has redefined the yachting industry. This is their story—a perfect blend of artisanal tradition, bold design, and global ambition.
Galeon was founded in 1982 by naval engineer Wieczysław “Janek” Kobylko. In its early days, the company produced small fiberglass boats and automotive parts in modest workshops. Kobylko’s vision was clear: grow without compromising on the highest standards of quality.
That approach quickly paid off. Thanks to a collaboration with British designer Tony Castro, Galeon launched its first 33-foot yacht, making waves at international boat shows and attracting distributors from abroad.
During the 1990s and 2000s, Galeon expanded its portfolio with larger and more sophisticated yachts. In 2002, it introduced the Galia brand for its smaller models, while the Galeon Yachts name became synonymous with high-end luxury vessels.
In 2010, Galeon opened a second production facility along the Vistula River, complete with a private marina and cutting-edge equipment. This vertical integration enabled the company to manufacture nearly every component in-house.
A pivotal milestone came in 2016, when Galeon signed an exclusive distribution agreement with MarineMax in the U.S., doubling its production within four years. Today, Galeon exports 90% of its yachts to demanding markets such as Germany, Switzerland, the United States, and Asia.
Every Galeon is a masterpiece. The shipyard fuses traditional cabinetry with CNC technology, crafting even its own teak decking. Collaborations with world-renowned designers like Tony Castro and Roberto Curtò have produced revolutionary models featuring bow doors, fold-down balconies, convertible furniture, and advanced materials like carbon fiber.
Galeon has been named the most innovative yacht brand for three consecutive years. It has earned accolades from the Motor Boat Awards, World Yachts Trophies, and was honored with the Forbes Diamonds in Poland. Its reputation is built on quality, reliability, and outstanding after-sales service.
Beyond commercial success, Galeon has reshaped the industry. It brought superyacht features to midsize yachts, inspired other Eastern European shipyards, and raised global standards in design, safety, and functionality.
